DANiCA’s STORY

DANiCA opened the HENLEY FESTIVAL, performing the same night as STING in 2012. At just 17 years old, she had shared the bill with JOOLS HOLLAND the year before.

One of DANiCA’s most memorable gigs was supporting the musical legend, GENO WASHINGTON (Dexys Midnight Runners had paid tribute in their song ‘Geno’) at the famous Half Moon in Putney. She recalls this as ‘one of the most memorable nights of my life!’

In 2013, DANiCA was invited to the BBC Introducing Masterclass where she took her opportunity of 1 minute of fame and sang acapella – live streamed in front of industry professionals, including MAVERICK SABRE, and ROB DA BANK at the famous ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS. Her spontaneous performance led to her being aired on JO WHILEY’s Radio 2 and finding her manager (Maverick’s manager) and her journey really took off.

At this time, and after leaving high school, DANiCA focussed her efforts on writing and producing with a variety of producers – with various producers including Stuart Epps (ELTON JOHN’s ex-producer), DubRocca, Titanium and Marrik Shearer amongst many others. DANiCA started young and at 16 years of age she had made it to the finals of a national singing/songwriting competition at the O2 Arena in London, fending off fierce competition from many thousands of competitors to get to runner up in her under 18 category.
